Guide to Indoor Gardening

I read somewhere around 50 blogs on a regular basis, none of them on gardening. Occasionally, however, I am pleased to see a post or two about gardening in these blogs.

This recipe for Oregano Basil Salsa is one of my favorites. The oregano and basil add a unique and refreshing flavor to the salsa that make this recipe great for summer time.

I don't really measure the ingredients, and the proportions more often have to do with what's most available from the garden than anything else.

Currently I'm still doing some research in my (very limited!) spare time for types of hydroponic systems. While I continue to organize the results of this research, I thought I'd write a post on my outdoor garden.

Continuing my earlier research, I've found that there are many types of hydroponic systems. These different types of systems can be divided into two major categories: Active systems, and passive systems.

Today I concentrated on doing some research on hydroponics to determine if it really is the best option for growing indoors, or if using soil makes more sense.

It turns out hydroponic-based gardening is far more efficient than soil-based gardening. There are, of course, advantages and disadvantages to hydroponics.

Recently, the rising cost of food has become of great concern in the US and elsewhere. Many have suggested that gardening is a great way to save money on food. I have been gardening successfully for several years and I greatly enjoy it, however I am very interested in learning to garden indoors using hydroponic systems (which I know very little about) so that I may garden year-round.
